1. Weber 22″ Charcoal Grill and Weber 22″ Charcoal Rotisserie Attachment *Top Charcoal Grill With Rotisserie

Company Weber
Our Rating 9.5 / 10 stars
Combo Price $$
Max Meat Load Unspecified. Can do 2 chickens or a turkey, but won’t fit a pig.
Why We Like It: Extremely popular budget-friendly combo, thousands of glowing reviews of both items on Amazon

Hands down the most popular, top charcoal grill with rotisserie on the web is this set of items from Weber.

Although it’s not a built in rotisserie, it deserves a very high rank on this list as it’s a great choice for those who want a quality rotisserie charcoal grill at a price range that’s affordable for many – if you want it “built in”, you can just put the rotisserie ring on the grill and leave it there for good.

This 22″ round premium kettle grill is well loved by thousands of charcoal grilling enthusiasts for good reason; it’s design is very well thought out. Adjustable dampers let you control the heat without lifting the lid (there’s a built in thermometer). A hinged cooking grate lets you easily add charcoal while grilling. It’s designed to be easy to clean (and has a high-capacity ash-catcher so you don’t have to empty it all that often). It comes with a hook on the side for your lid so you don’t have to put it on the ground mid cook. And there are even shields built in to protect the handles from getting too hot.

The rotisserie attachment is purchased separately from the grill. If you want to cook something using rotisserie one night, simply place the rotisserie ring on the kettle and proceed! The rotisserie comes with a heavy-duty electric motor and a wooden handle (won’t get so hot you can’t touch it). This current model has also had improvements made to it to include a counter balance that you can adjust to get a smooth spin no matter the size or shape of your meat.

2. Everdure by Heston Blumenthal HUB II 54-Inch Charcoal Grill: (Everdure Fusion Review)

Company Everdure
Our Rating 9.5/10
Price $$$$
Max Meat Load 85lbs
Claim To Fame Extremely high quality, high end, large rotisserie charcoal grill. A++

This is THE BEST charcoal grill with rotisserie on the market today. Improving on the already excellent Everdure Hub, the Hub II will knock your socks off. You’ll love the “Fast Flame” ignition button for simple charcoal lighting, the heavy duty 54″ spit with its sturdy Clip-Lock forks, the “stay cool” handles on the chrome grills that make adding or moving the charcoal a snap, the electronic panel that makes raising/lowering and starting the rotisserie spinning so easy, the heat guards, the well thought through storage compartments, the modern look, and so much more.

Check out this overview video here to get a better look:

If you’re a charcoal grilling enthusiast and you can afford it, this is absolutely the grill I’d recommend. It comes with a high price tag, but you get what you pay for. High quality materials, extremely well thought through design from start to finish, and fantastic extras that make your rotisserie charcoal grilling events memorable and pleasurable.

3. Titan Great Outdoors Rotisserie Charcoal Grill Roaster

Titan Great Outdoors Rotisserie Grill
Company Titan
Our Rating 9/10
Price $$
Max Meat Load 125lb
Why We Like It: Excellent for large cuts of meat. Proven, traditional design. Best “mid price range” option.

This next best charcoal rill with rotisserie is for those of you who are looking for something BIG. The product image here may not show it, but this charcoal grill is seriously huge … the spit is 51 inches. Yes, longer than 4 feet, big enough to roast an entire animal (hog, goat, lamb, etc) or multiple chickens at once!

Some of the things you’ll like about this rotisserie charcoal grill (besides the huge size) are that even mid cook you can adjust the height of the spit and/or move the coals around or add more. Also good to note is that the shape of the base is designed to direct the heat to the spit length, which preserves charcoal. If you happen to run out of charcoal though, you can fuel this rotisserie grill with hunks of wood. (This may also be a plus for those of you who prefer the taste of wood-smoke over charcoal flavor).

4. Everdure by Heston Blumenthal Fusion 29-Inch Charcoal Grill with Patented Built-in Rotisserie System & Quick Electric Ignition

Everdure by Heston Blumenthal Fusion 29-Inch Charcoal Grill with Patented Built-in Rotisserie System
Company Everdure
Our Rating 9/10
Combo Price $$$
Max Meat Load 30 lbs
Why We Like It: Contemporary and stylish for a modern backyard, absolutely top quality product from top to bottom.

We already took a look at the Hub II by Everdure, now we’ll take a look at the smaller – yet nearly as impressive – Fusion 29″ charcoal bbq with rotisserie (yes, the rotisserie part hidden in the product image –  it raises with no effort from the sides and is ready to go in just minutes).

Like the Hub II, this grill is as easy to start as a gas grill – just a push of the button once you’ve loaded in your charcoal. 10 mins of pre-heating and boom – you’re good to go. The built in rotisserie has three height settings, can hold up to 30lbs of meat, and the Fusion comes with the same amazing Cliplock Forks that keep your meat firmly in place as on the Hub II. It also has Everdure’s patented Rotiscope Technology, which gives you a commercial level, quiet-motored experience.

The Fusion charcoal grill is a modern looking, well designed grill that won’t disappoint. A 10 year warranty on most of the parts for the original owner is a pretty sweet incentive too.

5. Charotis 62″ Propane/Charcoal BBQ Rotisserie – Model SSGC1-XL  *Best Gas/Charcoal Combo

Charotis Rotisserie Grill
Company Charotis
Our Rating 8/10
Combo Price $$$
Max Meat Load 150 lbs (reviewers claim 80-100lbs is ideal)
Why We Like It: Can fuel with either charcoal or propane, has a cover to lock in heat/smoke during cooking

The Charotis grill is another MASSIVE stainless steel charcoal grill, one of those “party size” options. It’s a good grill to look at if you’re one who wants to cook up really large cuts, multiple birds, or even full animals for a large crowd (pig, lamb, goat) on a regular basis. The stainless steel spit is 62″ long, and there’s an insulated heavy duty motor (4 rpm, 50W, 200lbs in torque).

This grill is unique on our list as it is a charcoal/propane combo spit roaster. You can cook with EITHER propane or charcoal, and with the lid open or closed (which is great if you want to trap in heat or smoke). The max temp advised is 300 degrees F, however, so don’t count on using this as a grill for steaks when you’re not using the rotisserie. It’s meant for low and slow cooking.

A few extras thrown in with your purchase are a BBQ cover sized exactly for this grill, BBQ gloves, and oh yeah, a little thing called a lifetime warranty.

6. Napoleon PRO605CSS Professional Charcoal Grill, Stainless Steel

Napoleon Professional Charcoal Grill
Company Napoleon
Our Rating 8.2/10
Combo Price $$$$
Max Meat Load unspecified

The high end, popular Napoleon charcoal grill here is a more traditional backyard grill. It’s multi-use in that it can be used for more than just roasting meat on a spit. While it comes with an impressive rotisserie system built in, you can also sear your favorite steak, cook up ribs low and slow, prepare burgers for a crowd, and more.

This Napoleon comes with cast iron cooking grids, a stainless steel body, space for storage of your charcoal, tools, wood chips, and more. You can raise or lower your charcoal bed easily to get the desired heat you’re looking for, and adding charcoal or wood during a cook is simple due to the front load door – you don’t even have to lift the lid to do so.

The built in rotisserie has been impressively designed too. You’ll appreciate the rear charcoal burner area, with it’s special charcoal basket that allows you to gives more location specific heat (or smoke) to the meat on the spit.

This rotisserie charcoal grill is one of the best multi-purpose grills on our list for sure. And Napoleon is a grill brand that carries some weight – you know you’re getting a serious grill here.

7. Titan Great Outdoors Small Rotisserie Chicken Roaster

Titan Great Outdoors Small Rotisserie Grill
Company Titan Great Outdoors
Our Rating 7.6/10
Combo Price $
Max Meat Load 22 lbs

If you are looking for a extremely budget friendly, smaller charcoal grill with rotisserie built in, this one is a good one to take a look at. It’s portable enough to take with to the beach or camping, weighing 24lbs, with legs that fold up easily, and a rotisserie motor that runs approx 6 hours on (1) “D” size battery, yet it is large enough with a 28″ spit rod to handle a good amount of meat.

You’ll appreciate some of the design aspects of this grill that lengthen your coal burn (and thus save you some money), such as the hood that holds in the heat and smoke (and protects your food from blowing debris), the reflective surface of the hood interior that redirects the heat back to your meat, and the positioning of the coal trays on the sides allowing the fat to drip directly to the drip trays instead of onto your coals.

This grill also comes with a standard grilling rack so you can grill burgers or hotdogs. It’s very simple to change over from rotisserie to grilling, as well as clean out the ash after the charcoal has cooled.

8. BBQ Creations B-007 PortaSpit Portable Spit Rotisserie/BBQ Charcoal Grill (Large Version)

BBQ Creations B-007 PortaSpit Portable Spit Rotisserie/BBQ Charcoal Grill
Company BBQ Creations
Our Rating 7.4/10
Combo Price $
Max Meat Load 30 lbs

This next charcoal grill rotisserie is actually quite similar to the grill we just looked at. It is portable (fold up legs, motor runs on batteries), has dual charcoal trays on the sides of the base to allows the drips not to hit the charcoal directly (limits flare ups), and comes with a standard grilling rack so you can do burgers and sausages as well.

A few differences are the size, the amount of meat that the two meat forks can hold (30lb max), the lack of a hood (grillers preference). It’s slightly larger as well.

  • The Patent Pending Pending dual charcoal trays provide variable heat. By repositioning them, the sides of the meat roast and the fat and juices fall freely into the bottom collection tray after basting the turning meat. This unique design ensures, long lasting, charcoal life. It also stops flames and flare ups during the cooking process as it stops fat from dripping on the charcoal
  • The 12-hour, battery operated (3 “AA” size batteries), rotating spit motor ensures even roasting of up to 30 pounds of meat
  • Great for Spit BBQ grilling anything that can be placed on a spit: pork roast, beef roast, prime rib, lamb leg, turkey, multiple chickens
  • It comes with a standard grilling rack. With the charcoal trays pushed all the way in, the grill can act as a standard BBQ grill which is great for hot dogs and hamburgers.
  • The PortaSpit is built for portability. You can easily fold it up and take anywhere great, be it the backyard, a camping trip or the beach

Rotisserie Grilling FAQs

What Is Rotisserie Grilling?

Pig on a spit: Best Charcoal Grills With Rotisserie 2021

Rotisserie grilling is slowly roasting meat over a fire by turning it on a spit. It’s a process as old as time, but we’ve definitely gotten better at perfecting the skill. Motorized spits that turn meat at an even speed and a thorough understanding of the importance both of balancing the meat on the spit and creating even heat have made rotisserie cooking into pretty much an art.

How Does A Rotisserie Grill Work?

Rotisseries are grill accessories. You thread and balance your meat onto a long stainless steel spit (“stick”) and set the stick in place on the mounts. A motor turns it at a steady and slow pace. As the meat turns, the heat below and beside it hits the meat and roasts it. The juices from the cooking meat self-baste the meat as it turns, creating an incredibly juicy, moist dish. Many newer rotisserie grills have a special heat source at the rear (often it’s infrared on gas grills) to allow juices that drip down to land in a spot where they won’t flare up and overly-crisp up your meat.

What Food Can You Cook On A Rotisserie Grill?

There are many different foods you can cook on a rotisserie grill. Although most people tend to think right away of poultry (chicken, duck, turkey) or hogs, people also often enjoy rotisserie cooked lamb or rabbit. If you purchase a rotisserie grill basket, however, the world of rotisserie cooking can open up to also include foods like shrimp or veggies.

Does Rotisserie Grilling Cook Meat Faster?

It depends on what you are comparing it to. Typically, rotisserie cooking is done “low and slow”, so likely there are faster methods to cook your meat. But you may not find that “quicker cooked meat” as juicy or nicely done.

Do You Need To Close The Lid For Rotisserie Grilling?

No. Although many people like to keep the lids closed to trap in smoke and flavor (especially if there are wood chips in use), many rotisserie grills do not come with lids. They are not absolutely necessary. Think of large charcoal spits used for whole hogs, for example.

What Fuel Is Best For Rotisserie Grilling?

This is a matter of preference. Many people prefer charcoal rotisserie grilling, but gas rotisserie grilling is also popular (and perhaps easier for a novice griller). There are very few pellet grills that have rotisseries as the very concept of pellet grilling doesn’t fit with rotisserie.
